It’s been a minute! Life is changing by the second, and our lives have been tossed upside down, around the corner, and down a hill (and it feels like we haven’t reached the bottom yet!). I can’t imagine bringing a wee babe into this unknown world right now. Saying goodbye to your birth plans, goodbye to visitors and help in the first few weeks while you’re just. so. tired. Grandparents who can’t hold their tiny little Grandbabies. Aunts and Uncles and cousins and friends who have to wave hello and take their first pictures through windows. Baby Showers that aren’t happening, or are happening as drive by’s. Brand new Moms who had a Newborn Photographer picked out before the two lines appeared. Who now won’t have those squishy newborn photos on pinks and purples, blues and greens. Who won’t get to look back on the pictures of their sweet tiny babes in Daddy’s big hands, showing how safe, how small, how perfect they are. I just want you to know that I’m here. I’m still here, and I’m not going anywhere.
For any new Mama’s, whether it’s number 1 or 6, I’m here. And just because plans have changed, it doesn’t mean you can’t have your memories. It doesn’t mean you can’t have that album that you look back on when they turn one and bawl your eyes out because they were so tiny. Because they’ve grown so. much.
